The All Progressives Congress seems to be having more than enough on its plate currently.as a sizeable number of governors have appealed to the party’s chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun to resign from his position.
The call for Oyegun’s resignation follows a closed-door meeting he held with the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, and Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon. Yakubu Dogara on Tuesday, June 23, at his Abuja residence, Vanguard reports.
The Governors are attacking him on the basis of his suspected alliance with Senator Bukola Saraki who they believe sold APC into the hands of the People’s Democratic Party.
The governors, who want Oyegun to step down include Comrade Adams Oshiomhole (Edo), Tanko Al-Makura (Nasarawa), Mallam Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna), Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola (Osun). Others are Abubakar Sani Bello (Niger) Senator Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi) and Abubuakar Badaru (Jigawa).
Meanwhile, leaders of the APC have endorsed Ahmed Lawan, Femi Gbajabiamila, George Akume and five others as principal officers of the National Assembly as a form of compensation for their alleged losses.
